Might you be interested in hearing me talk more about myself?
Aliya is my name, but you can cut it down to Ali or Al or Li if you like. I’m from Jakarta, Indonesia. I’ve spent probably too much of my life online and I’m somewhat active in fandom spaces.
This About page is mostly in case you looked through my social media and wondering if you should follow me. I talk about whatever’s on my mind, so my social media presence can be chaotic: one moment I’m a fan-account for a specific game and the next I’m musing about international diplomacy or something.
I like languages and cross-cultural communication. I studied International Relations in college, but I’m no longer interested in it professionally. I’m equally fluent in English and Indonesian, absolutely terrible in Sundanese and French, and actively learning Japanese and Chinese.
I play video games of all kind: indies, AAA, those in-between, from all corners of the globe. Or I try to, at least. I’m most fond of RPGs, both the JRPG variety and those more directly descended from tabletop; I’m also huge fan of the nascent combatless type.
I like reading novels: mostly fantasy and science fiction with the occasional historical fiction. I’m no good at drawing, but I adore visual art and always do my best to support their artists.
I like bugs despite my arachnophobia (spiders are still cool though). I like birds and funny sea creatures. My favorite extinct animal is the archeopteryx. Whip scorpions are my friends (I am terrified of them). I feel a personal connection to the lionfish.
